چکیده

Localization property in the disordered few-chain DNA systems with a long-range correlation is numerically investigated. We apply the chain system with the correlated disorder in the interchain and/or intrachain hoppings to the simple model of a double strand of DNA. Numerical results for the density of states and the Lyapunov exponent of the wave function in the twoor three-chain models are given. It is found that the correlation effect enhances the localization length (the inverse least nonnegative Lyapunov exponent) around the band center.

Localization of Electronic States in Chain Models Based on Real DNA Sequence

We investigate the localization property of an electron in the disordered twoand three-chain systems (ladder model) with long-range correlation as a simple model for electronic property in a double strand of DNA. The chains are constructed by repetition of the sugar-phosphate sites, and the inter-chain hopping at the sugar sites come from nucleotide pairs, i.e., A− T or G−C pairs. It has been f...

Some Effective Tight-BindingModels for Electrons in DNA Conduction: A Review

Quantum transport for DNA conduction has been widely studied with interest in application as a candidate in making nanowires as well as interest in the scientific mechanism. In this paper, we review recent works concerning the electronic states and the conduction/transfer in DNA polymers. We have mainly investigated the energy-band structure and the correlation effects of localization property ...

The Role of Long Non Coding RNAs in the Repair of DNA Double Strand Breaks

DNA double strand breaks (DSBs) are abrasions caused in both strands of the DNA duplex following exposure to both exogenous and endogenous conditions. Such abrasions have deleterious effect in cells leading to genome rearrangements and cell death. A number of repair systems including homologous recombination (HR) and non-homologous end-joining (NHEJ) have been evolved to minimize the fatal effe...

DFT approach to calculate electronic transfer through a segment of DNA double helix

The electronic structures of an entire segment of a DNA molecule were calculated in its single-strand and double-helix cases using the DFT method with an overlapping dimer approximation and negative factor counting method. The hopping conductivity of the segment was calculated by the random walk theory from the results of energy levels and wave functions obtained. The results of the single-stra...
